Magical Frequently Asked Questions
Everyday magic, sometimes I call it ‘real magic’, is a combination of various magical practices, visualisation, crystal healing and habit forming.
It’s eclectic magic mixed with mindfulness, gemstones and aromatherapy. I also incorporate Reiki into what I offer you by infusing everything with Reiki energy.
The everyday and DIY magic here includes:
Meditation/Visualisation as part of a ritual, this is called setting your intention by some magical practitioners, other people call it ‘manifesting’
Ritual oils for their scent, aromatherapy and magical properties and as a reminder throughout your day
Crystals/Gemstones for their colours, crystal energy, beauty, and as physical point for your intentions
Wearing jewellery for touch, because it’s portable, as a reminder of what you are trying to achieve and to help you form a new positive habit/thought process
Symbols and talismans for their magical properties and power, as a visual representation of your intention, and as portable magic in jewellery form
Herbs and resins literal apothecary! Fun! These are for their touch, smell, and of course magical properties and power
Ritual bathing for self care, magical properties, visualisation, intent, and as a ritual
Candles and Incense as part of your ritual as a focal point for your visualisation, for their magical properties and power and scent
Reiki for energy healing and manifestation. I infuse all my items with Reiki for you. and candles and incense (ritual, magical properties, full body visualisation excersize)
All of these things come together to empower you to make the changes you want in yourself and in your life. Read more of my ramblings here
No! Reiki and everyday magick can work alongside your faith if you are religious, but they are not part of any religion. I am not Wiccan, which is a religion. Reiki is a healing modality, not a religion.
The items I offer on this site and the things I talk about are all magic, and can only be used for good. Reiki only works for the highest good.
So, this isn’t religious but it is spiritual – mostly I wanted to empower you by giving you an easy way to change your life, health and emotional state – this is all about YOU, not a religion 🙂
Short answer, no. I don’t provide spellwork for other people, my purpose here is to empower you to do your own rituals and make your own changes 🙂
You’ll get much more out of a spell and it will have a longer lasting positive affect for you if you do it yourself
I can custom design and make energy bracelets, spell vials, ritual oils, ritual bathing items, jewellery and DIY spell kits for you. These take a fair amount of time to create so I charge a little bit more for custom orders, but get in touch with me and we can chat about what you need help with and what we can do!
The mystery boxes are curated intuitively just for you, you can check them out as well if you’re after something but aren’t quite sure what.
Absolutely. If you want to gift someone with magical jewellery or a DIY ritual kit, there’s no magical rule against this.
Lots of people could benefit from a bit of relaxation, some indulgent self care and of course crystals and jewellery are pretty! If you would like to empower someone with a gift from my website and aren’t sure what to get them, please don’t hesitate to contact me and I can help you work something out for them.
Also please let me know it’s a gift and I can gift wrap it and include a little note saying it’s from you. If you’re ordering things to be shipped to 2 different addresses in the one order please contact me before ordering so I can work out shipping for you and make sure the right thing goes to the right address 🙂
Not professionally. Well, not really anyway. The Mystery boxes are very similar to an Oracle reading though, I suppose, and they are curated intuitively so I guess this is kind of similar to a reading. I didn’t really think of that until I thought I’d better check over my FAQs page. lol.
I have been reading Oracle and Tarot since I think 2009? But I don’t offer this as a service. If you need help picking something that will help you, or if you feel like you need something custom made just for you, get in contact as I can help you work this out.
At the moment I do not have a healing studio and am not offering in person Reiki sessions. I am also not set up to do distance healing sessions, it’s a bit hard with bubba at home. Occasionally I offer short, informal distance Reiki sessions, check out my Facebook page for more info.
Reiki is wonderful! It is energy healing, discovered by Japanese monk Mikao Usui. To oversimplify, I like to think of Reiki as universal life force or goodness. It is channelled (by the Reiki practitioner, me) and sent either in person or by distance to the receiver (you); where it goes to where it’s needed most.
Reiki heals and balances. Reiki isn’t just for people – animals and plants also love Reiki. Reiki is not religious. You can only receive Reiki if you consent to it, and when you receive Reiki your body and mind decide where the healing and balancing is needed most.
If you are about to receive Reiki by distance, please allow at least 30 minutes of quiet, uninterrupted time.
When your session starts, or when you are ready to tap into it, sit or lay down and close your eyes. Try and direct your attention into yourself and your body, notice your breathing or the feeling of your back against the bed. You don’t have to meditate, just turning your attention inwards instead of out is great!
During your session you may notice lights, colours, hot or cold sensations, the feeling of touch when nothing is there, an emotional release (crying/laughing), pins and needles, your attention might be drawn to particular areas of your body, you may feel very relaxed and you may go to sleep, or you might not notice anything in particular. Any and all of these are valid, your body and mind take Reiki and decide what to do with it. Reiki goes where it is needed most, but it is your body and mind that direct it where it’s needed.
Afterwards, slowly come back to the present moment, open your eyes, and have a sip of water. If you’re feeling up to it have a small snack, and take it easy for a while.
ALLOY – 99% of the necklaces & charms available are made of alloy – so usually plated copper, brass or steel, not stirling silver! Because of this the plating will eventually come off – if you wear it ALL the time, especially to bed, swimming, at the gym etc. – this will happen faster. Stainless steel is a bit different, and at this point I don’t have stirling silver or precious metals. Some of my jewellery pieces use copper – this is a great magical tool but can leave some green staining on your skin!
If you’re allergic to alloy or copper please don’t purchase them, feel free to contact me if you’re after stainless steel and aren’t sure which ones are stainless. You can coat your alloy jewellery in clear varnish if you would like to make the plating last longer but I haven’t tried this and I’m not sure if it is effective against allergies.
BRACELETS – the stretchy bracelets are double strung on thick stretchy cord and are designed to last quite a while with proper care. This means trying not to get them soaked in chlorine or salt water, not cleaning with them on, and avoiding wearing them while doing things with sharp scratchy bits, like gardening, unless you’re wearing gloves to cover the elastic. Also, small humans love to pull on them and overstretching them will cause them to degrade/snap faster.
The second bit of elastic cord is a fail safe, so if one breaks then stop wearing it as it’s time to restring it while you’ve still got all the beads 🙂 If one or both of the strings starts fraying it’s also time to restring it before you loose the beads. The elastic should hold up under careful wear for at least 6 months, but I’ve had some last for 2 years with daily wear and some last for a bit less than 6 months (my gardening ones lol).
