The July boxes celebrated Imbolc on August 8th, with the underlying theme being awakening.
At the start of July I had already seen a beautiful water hyacinth flower pop up under the apple tree. Chilly frosts blanketed the ground in the morning making everything appear like some kind of wonderful fae playground. Sometimes we’re blessed with sunny days as the sun shines through the bare branches of the trees, straight through the windows as the sun is much lower in the sky than in summer, and just brings a sense of joy with it. It’s still really, really cold but spring isn’t too far away and it’s almost time to awaken from our winter ‘hibernation’
With the Imbolc boxes I wanted to provide some inspiration to awaken, energize and refresh yourself in preparation for spring. Imbolc is also a great time to come up with new ideas, find inspiration, start new things, plan stuff, renew old ideas and good habits, and of course it’s a time to contemplate fertility. I stopped short of loading the boxes with whole coffee beans (they’re becoming harder and harder to get in the supermarkets around here lol) but I did use coffee as the main note for the Invigorate ritual perfume blend. The spell itself was actually pretty simple, to be adapted to fit.
What Was In The Box
FOR THE SPELL
Quartz crystal chips – quartz is an amazing amplifier. These teeny chips combined with the amethyst can be used to cast a circle
Amethyst tumbles – my daughter helped me count these out and put them in the bags, so they have extra love and happiness in them
Amethyst cluster – I don’t think you can ever have too much amethyst, it’s so beautiful and versatile
NZ beeswax tealight candle – Imbolc is also known as candlemass, so of course your Imbolc box has a candle 🙂
Invigorate ritual perfume – similar to a ritual oil, this ritual perfume is designed to give you a quick pick me up of energy. Shake before use and watch the colour change, then a single squirt on your decolletage, the inside of your wrist or even as a room spray will help you feel energized. The oils and scents draw up earth energies, mix them with energizer coffee and a sprinkling of sunny citrus. Infused with citrine and rutilated quartz for extra ooomph. You can also use this during spells but it contains alcohol (I had to put a preservative in it, really wanted it alcohol free) so please don’t use it near a candle or incense
